Del Cothran, Jr. was raised in Chattanooga, TN by his loving parents, Harold and Carolyn Cothran. Harold, a Paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne during the 1960s, later became the first Black General Manager of a thriving radio station in Chattanooga. Carolyn dedicated her career to the school system, specializing in English, and was an avid cook and passionate gardener. Their unwavering support and values were the bedrock of Del's success as a father, husband, friend, and professional.
Influential Figures and Life Lessons
Del's drive and determination are deeply rooted in the lessons he learned from his parents and other influential figures, particularly his uncle Melvin. Uncle Melvin taught Del the importance of loving others as Christ loves us, while Carolyn, his mother, emphasized the values of integrity and forgiveness. These principles have guided Del toward a life of peace and purpose.
